A/B Test Campaigns

A/B tests are split tests that allow you to compare two versions (design, subject, send time etc.) of a Campaign and to analyze which Campaign is more effective, and maybe run a final leg of your Campaign using the winner. With email marketing A/B tests, you can improve your metrics, increase conversions, get to know your Audience and find out what’s generating sales.
Kapitalwise provides A/B Testing Campaigns to test different versions of a single email to see how small changes can have an impact on customer engagement. On Kapitalwise, you simply set up 2 emails that are exactly the same except for 1 variable, such as a different subject line. You then send the 2 emails to a small sample of your subscribers to see which email is more effective.
Term Definition
Variation The element of your Campaign that you want to test. You can test one of the three variations: Subject, Design, or Schedule.
Percentage This is the test percentage, i.e., the percentage of your Audience that will receive the test variations. Example - If you select 20%, then 10% of your Audience will receive Campaign variation A, another 10% of your Audience will receive Campaign variation B and the remaining 80% of your Audience will receive the winning Campaign variation.
Note 1. We require that you test with at least 10% of your Audience for any variation of A/B test. Your samle Audience size should be between 10% and 40%.
Note 2. If you're testing Schedule variation, you do not have the option to pick a sample Audience percentage as the Scheule variation AB Test simply helps you identify the best Schedule to send your future emails. Each variation of the AB test, in this case, will be sent to 50% of the Audience selected.
Deciding Parameter This is the criteria to decide the winning Campaign variation. You can choose one of the three options: “Open”, “Click” or “Open & Click”.
Wait Time The time duration of the system will wait after the test Campaign variations are sent out to collect and analyze the results to decide the winning Campaign variation.

Things to know

  1. To enable/disable the Compliance, please Contact your Kapitalwise Customer Success Manager. You can use the Compliance flow only if it is enabled for your company.

Compliance Flow

  1. The users who have access to creating a Campaign create the Campaign by following the usual steps.
  2. If Compliance Workflow is enabled, the user won’t be able to schedule the Campaign directly. It has to first submit the Campaign to the Compliance for review. This can be done by clicking on the ‘Submit to Compliance’ button at the bottom of the create Campaign page.
  3. Once the Campaign is submitted to be reviewed by Compliance, all the Compliance users will receive an email notification.
  4. When Compliance uses logs in to Kapitalwise, they would see all the pending Campaigns under the ‘Pending Compliance’ tab on All Campaign menu.
  5. The Compliance user can review the Campaign, and based on whether it is compliant or not, they can approve or reject the Campaign by clicking on the Approve/Reject button at the bottom of the page.
  6. Once the Campaign is approved or rejected by the Compliance user, the status will be visible to other users when they go to the All Campaigns page.
  7. If the Campaign were rejected, the schedule option wouldn’t be visible, and the user will have to submit the Campaign for Compliance review again after making the required changes.
  8. If the Campaign gets approved, the user will see an option to schedule the Campaign.
  9. Please note that if a user makes changes to an approved Campaign, it would need to be resubmitted for Compliance review again.
